Has your Facebook feed become clogged with content you just don’t care about? Many Facebookers personalize their newsfeed so that only people and businesses they care about show up, making it a custom newspaper. However, if left to its own devices, Facebook feeds can get crowded. Here’s how to customize your Facebook feed.
Newsfeeds can get jam packed with annoying content pretty easily: You can “like” a page a friend suggests, not knowing how often that page posts, or maybe you installed a Facebook app that bugs you to take a quiz every other day, or perhaps you have that Facebook friend that seems to not have anything better to do than collect sheep for their virtual farm. No matter the reason, over time newsfeeds get clogged. Like anything, your Facebook page should be maintained and cleaned up. Well, with spring on the horizon, now is a great time to do a little spring cleaning on the content that shows up in your feed! Here’s how:
- Hover over the post
- Click the small drop down arrow that appears in the upper right-hand corner of the post
- Click the option “hide all from [offending site]”
That’s it! When an ad, quiz request, app request, or anything that makes you cringe, roll your eyes, and want to swear off Facebook altogether pops up, you can block that content. If it’s a friend who is the culprit for the annoying content, you don’t have to unfriend or block the friend’s news from showing up in your feed. Instead, you can just block the site.
