When BizzyWeb heard about some recent updates to Google+, we got really excited. We regularly use Google+ and their hangout feature for team meetings and our weekly Buzz Builders calls held every Wednesday at noon. Some features are immediately obvious, but if you’re like us, you went in search for some of the hidden features meant to make life a little easier. In this blog, read about 3 updates to Google+ in the areas of Hangouts, photos, and videos.
Hangouts – If you’ve never used this Google feature before, Hangouts is one handy little tool. You can chat, live, with anyone who wants to listen and you can have up to 10 people be active contributors to the conversation. That means, you can easily host webinars, meet virtually with your team, and collaborate with other remote partners and clients when it’s more appropriate to talk face to face. Now Google Hangouts are broadcast in full-screen HD for all devices. In addition, if you’re talking with someone who is in an area with a distracting background, you can use Hangout’s new “Spotlight” feature to make the speaker the sole focus of your conversation.
Photos – Google wants to be the main player in the social world for those who care about the quality of their photographs they upload – ahem, listen up photo enthusiasts! Using Google+, you can erase people or objects from photos using Auto Awesome Erase to automatically get rid of strangers in the background in family or professional photos. You can also now upload photos of any size so users don’t have to sacrifice on the quality of their photos.
Video – The Auto Awesome Video feature that Google+ added will now automatically create a video with audio overlay once Google+ determines that certain photos were taken at a similar spot and time. There is no need to sift through or edit photos before the video is created, as Google+ will automatically choose the most interesting and highest quality photos for your video.
Google+ incorporated many more updates in their program, so you can get a full rundown of their updates by checking out Google’s official blog. If you haven’t tried Google+ yet, be sure to give it a try and add BizzyWeb to your circles!
