If you do much online, one of your resolutions should be to look at how secure your internet accounts are. With recent news about Target’s data breach, and news almost every day about hacked accounts, it’s never been more important to make sure your passwords are rock-solid.

If you use your favorite sports team, the name of a child, sibling or pet for your passwords, and if you’re active on social networks, it’s pretty easy for hackers to guess your login credentials. And if you use the same password for everything, as soon as they have access to one account, all of them are in danger.

For best security, use a nonsensical phrase such as “I like bees and honey” with capital letters and a few numbers or special characters built in, and customize your password for each site you visit. Or even better, use a tool like 1Password or LastPass to generate and remember super-strong passwords.
