Twitter is the new high school popularity contest, and even more so since Twitter announced their new analytics tool.
Mashable explained how Twitter analytics works:
“With Twitter Analytics, users will be able to see a plethora of data about their account; for example, information about which tweets are most successful, which tweets caused people to unfollow, and who the most influential users are that reply and retweet their messages.”
Basically, analytics is a tracking device to gauge the effectiveness of your tweets. These analytics are currently available for a small test group of Twitter users. By the end of 2010, Twitter says the analytics tool will be available for everyone. Feels like a popularity contest already, doesn’t it?
